Cafe Chokolade ups chocolate quotient with new outlet

After the resounding success of its first outlet, Cafe Chokolade has now opened its second outlet in Egmore near Chennai

One of the most delectable forms of processed food available is chocolate, produced from the seed of the tropical Theobroma cacao tree. To make this processed food more appealing for chocolate lovers, Cafe Chokolade offers an array of chocolate goodies like Chokolade B, which is a unique dessert. After the resounding success of its outlet in Chennai, Cafe Chokolade has now opened its second outlet in Egmore near Chennai.

At Cafe Chokolade, consumers can enjoy delicious treats such as chocolate sandwich and ice cream, which is named 'Scoop of Nature'. In this context, Cafe Chokolade owner Ameet Pahilani said, “We are inspired by nature and thus call our ice cream 'Scoop of Nature'. When I follow this process, I always think of the kheer my mother use to make, where there was no addition of any preservative. There are two principles that have always kept the company afloat - quality products and customer care.”

Chocolate making

The process of preparing chocolate involves a number of steps such as processing, blending, conching and tempering. Being sensitive to temperature and humidity, it is importance to ensure proper storage of chocolate.

According to Dr V H Potty, food technologist and chairman of Diversified Food Technologies (India), Mysore, “Chocolate is known to be a rich source of antioxidants but its consumption is constrained by the high levels of saturated fat and sugar present in these products, both of which are dangerous food ingredients for human health. The chocolate making process uses the recovered fat from the cocoa pot to enrich the chocolate mass (finely ground cocoa mash) with more fat and uses abundant white sugar to get the final product, which is much sought after by consumers of all ages.”

Indeed, chocolate products, including the ones offered by Cafe Chokolade, are much sought after by chocolate lovers.
