Bharti and Del Monte to establish food processing unit

Bharti Enterprises Ltd and Philippines based Del Monte Pacific Ltd are planning to establish a food processing unit near Hosur in Tamil Nadu, which will start its operations from 2010. Along with making packaged fruit drinks, juices, ketchups and sauces, the company will continue to import and sell Del’s packaged fruits and drinks in India under the brand Del Monte in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi etc till the new facility becomes properly functional.



Bharti Enterprises has entered the food and beverage segment by retailing Del Monte’s products along with selling fruits and vegetable under the brand name FieldFresh Foods in its joint venture with Del Monte.
