The Union Government has recently announced the launch of Person Power Development programme under the Rural Areas Scheme. The primary concern of the programme is technology transfer for processing food products using local raw material while imparting hands-on training.
Government organisations, educational and training institutions and NGOs can avail the scheme, but will have to provide training to a minimum of 100 persons every year. Obtaining a Fruit Products Order (FPO) license is mandatory after the machinery installation stage.
The applicant organisations with multiple production lines should have an annual turnover of Rs 2.50 lakh, while those with a single line should have an annual turnover of Rs 1 lakh at least. In case of applications from NGOs and cooperatives, submission of an affidavit that the organisation has not taken aid from any governmental organisation is mandatory. |
