Food industry players from around the world will benefit from the events on offer at MIFB 2009 in Malaysia
MIFB 2009 – the 10th Malaysia International Food and Beverage Trade Fair – is scheduled to be held from July 9-11, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This trade event will be held at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) on an area spreading over 11,804 sq m. This 3-day event is expected to draw industry experts, policy-makers and international players from across the world. Organised by Kumpulan Utusan and Expomal International, in collaboration with Ministry of Agriculture & Agro-based Industry, Malaysia, this is the 10th edition of the MIFB trade fair. In this event, the focus will be on exploring trade and investment opportunities in 10 F&B segments, including sweet and snacks, beverages and lifestyle foods. It will also provide a platform for discussion on modern food packaging tools and techniques.
In addition, the trade fair will conduct the 5th Malaysia International Agro-Bio Business Conference 2009, as well as seminars and debates to discuss issues related to the world food shortage. These programmes will enable upcoming entrepreneurs to develop an understanding of the F&B industry and help them to become socially responsible. Visitors will also get an opportunity to establish trade linkages for mutual cooperation.
Last year, around 14,000 visitors from 43 countries participated in the event. This year, the trade fair is slated to attract over 15,000 visitors from countries such as Australia, Canada, China, France, India, New Zealand, Thailand and Vietnam.
